Photo Update from Miss Matsu

Hey everyone! I wanted to share some of my summer with you.

I got to run around a lot with other dogs.
And lots of play time and wrestling time!
Me and my foster buddies - still waiting for that forever home!
I even did well at bathtime (I wasn't impressed, but I didn't fuss too much!)
Thanks for checking back in. If you'd like to learn more about me, please contact Misty Creek. I'm still waiting for my special forever home.

Medical update...

Hello my friends. I have a medical update for you.
I've been going through a bunch of testing again because my poor little feet are getting progressively worse. I'm now being fostered with Annie from Muttley Crue . She is a wonderful foster mom, she takes me to work every day to play with all of the daycare dogs and dogs in there for a spa treatment! I like to follow Jasmine around the shop, and I'm in love with Olive, a saluki that Annie recently adopted.

I had a liver ultrasound and a bile production test - both came back clear. My vets have come to the consensus that my ailment is hyperkaratosis, commonly seen in dogs who have had distemper. Distemper has been ruled out and Misty Creek and the vets are now working on how to effectively treat my painful pad growths.
Please say a little prayer for me, I'm having surgery today to remove all of the affected tissue on my feet. The surgery and recovery is going to be tough, and probably quite painful, but the specialists are hopeful that after it's all over I will have normal foot pad tissue re-growth.

Now it may sound like I have it really ruff but I assure you I am also the luckiest little pup in the world. Sometimes in life you come across some very special people that really believe in you and would go to great lengths to help you. My foster mom Annie and her friends are some these special angels.
In trying to get my condition diagnosed and treated my dear foster mom Annie has led a fundraising drive that had collected upwards of $2000!!! Un- frickin'-believable.

I'd like to introduce you to some more of these friends of mine. This 'Friends of Matsu' club have generously donated toward my care.

Olive Taylor
Kelly Chan
Pawsitively Pooched & Mariko
Fun Bobby, personal trainer
Artisan Bistro
Krysalis Hair & Esthetics
Doug Redfern
Karen George
Many Anonymous donations - thank you to all of Annie's clients who have donated to my care!

A huge thank you to
McKnight 24 Hour Vet Hospital and to Western Veterinary and Specialist Centre . McKnight has continued to help Misty Creek with my care throughout the feet saga. Western has been my "specialist" care centre and I could not have done this without them. Their concern and expertise has been top notch!

Throughout all of my trials and tribulations I manage to keep a positive attitude and a smile on my face. I look forward to the day that I can wrestle ALL day and go for nice walks with my future forever family.

Thanks for checking back in and thank you all for your well wishes.

Love Matsu

Hello it's me again!!!

Hello everyone! Summer is here and I have some exciting updates to share with you.
I've moved into a brand new foster home a couple of weeks ago and guess what!?! My foster mom owns her very own groom shop. So she keeps me looking oh-so-pretty all of the time. And I LOVE my new friends.

The last time I went to the vet they trimmed back the growths on my feet. I'm much more comfortable now, but it was pretty weird at first. I would walk around for a bit and then flop over on my side to check out the bottoms of my feet.
If you're looking for a friendly, happy girl to add to your family don't hesitate! I'd love to spend the summer with my future forever family.

What an exhausting day!!!

What a busy Sunday! I stopped down at the Adopt-a-Thon at Dogaholics in hopes of finding my forever family. You wouldn't believe all the people there! Not to mention the other dogs, cats and even ferrets. It's enough to poop a young pup out. Not to mention all the effort trying to be adorable AND on my best behaviour.

Fortunately my sister Nessie and I found the perfect place to rest - a comfy lap.

Also - I am now a superstar. Check me out on CTV

Lovely Matsu.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a great time at last weekend's Adopt-a-thon at Dogma. I was very well behaved around all of the other dogs and all of the visitors we had.

Yay! Sleep-over party!

Hello - it's me again. My foster brother Dexter had major surgery on his leg so my foster mom, Coreen thought that it would be best if I stayed with another foster family until he recovers. Marli, Steve and Nessie have graciously accepted me into their home for a short visit. Nessie is my sister and she is still available for adoption. My foster mom said I would have a lot more fun staying with Nessie because Dexter can't play at all - and my other foster sibling Moblee and I would be spending of time outside to give him his space.

This is a picture of me practicing my nursing skills with Moblee.

Needless to say, my bags are packed for a little sleepover and Dexter has comfortably settled into MY Costco pillow in the living room.

You should really try one of these Costco beds - best thing since sliced roll-over. It's good for jumping and playing in, it makes a good toy-collection spot and of course, it's just nice to lay down and survey the world from it.

My feet are still sore, but one of my siblings is getting some special tests done and then we will know exactly what to give us to make us better. A big puppy kiss and thank you to Bronson for doing this - soon we'll all feel better!

I'm sure I'll have some great stories from my sleep-over. Stay in touch!

Hello again from Miss Matsu...

Luna was adopted so now I am waiting for my special forever home to come around.

Did I mention that I'm totally crate trained? Did I mention I'm totally trained for belly rubs? Did I mention that I'm totally trained to be a lap dog?

I'm still working on house-training. My feet are sore from the cold weather so I don't really like to go outside. My foster mom says I still need to do my 'business' outside though. She has started to put some special cream on my feet to make them feel better.

My foster sister is now my best buddy. She lets me play with her toys and we often have a game of 'mouth wrestling'. She is very gentle with me.
